Ram Janmotsasv
Ram Janmotsav, celebrated on the ninth day of Chaitra month, marks the divine birth of Lord Shri Ram
Chaitra Navami - Shri Ram Janmotsav & Nav Parayan Path
Ram Janmotsav, also known as Ram Navami, is one of the most sacred and grandly celebrated festivals at Shri Janki Mahal. Observed on the ninth day (Navami) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra, the festival marks the divine birth of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ramchandraji in Ayodhya.
At Shri Janki Mahal, Ram Janmotsav holds special spiritual significance, as the temple was established with the divine sentiment of accepting Maa Janki as a daughter and Shri Ram as a son-in-law. This unique भाव (bhav) makes the celebration deeply personal and family-oriented, filled with love, reverence, and heartfelt devotion.
The festivities are preceded by a nine-day Nav Parayan Path, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere in the temple. Devotees actively participate in Akhand Ramayan Path, bhajan-kirtan, spiritual discourses, and devotional singing, filling the premises with divine vibrations.
At the exact muhurat of Shri Ram’s birth, the idol of Bal Ram (infant Shri Ram) is beautifully adorned, and a special Janmotsav Aarti is performed amid the chanting of sacred mantras and the resonant ringing of temple bells. Devotees are blessed with the darshan of Ram Lalla, followed by the distribution of prasad and a community bhandara, symbolizing unity and service. The celebration of Ram Janmotsav at Shri Janki Mahal not only commemorates the divine birth of Lord Shri Ram but also reaffirms the trust’s founding principles of seva (service), bhakti (devotion), and the living spiritual bond between devotees and the Divine Couple.
In every age, Shri Ram reminds humanity that true power lies in dharma, patience, and unwavering faith.
